“Ghostbusters” Reboot May Feature an All-Female Leading Cast

It's been a long wait, but it looks as if the Ghostbusters franchise will actually be coming back to movie screens--with a slight twist.  According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) is the current front-runner tapped by Sony Pictures to direct the next installment, and it may feature an all-female Ghostbusting team. The gender-swap will be an interesting take on the franchise if it actually happens, though it's not exactly that jarring of an idea.  The Ghostbusters … [Read more...]

Will there be a Sci-Fi “Con Air” Sequel?

Con Air

Ah Con Air.  The most Michael Bay-esque movie that has nothing to do with Michael Bay.  When it comes to pre-Y2K action filmmaking, it's got everything you need: nonsensical plot, deranged villain, high-velocity confrontation, Nicolas Cage.  A true testament of the notion that "they don't make 'em like they used to."  Yes, it's a stupid movie, but if watching Con Air doesn't get you even a little excited, then there's a good chance you don't have a pulse.  I recommend going to doctor and getting … [Read more...]

Here's what he said: After I finish up “Company Of … [Read more...]

“Amazing Spider-Man 3” Pushed Back to 2018

It looks like Peter Parker is getting a vacation .  According to Variety, Sony Pictures has announced that the third entry in the Amazing Spider-Man series has been pushed back to 2018.  This places the Marc Webb helmed franchise two years away from its original release date, with a previously announced fourth entry lost somewhere in the ether. Such changes are likely designed to help The Amazing Spider-Man series compete better with the crowded slate of superhero films planned throughout the … [Read more...]

Velociraptor from “Jurassic World” Teased on Instagram

Jurassic World Raptor Leaked

Good news, everyone! (If you read that in a Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth voice, my work here is done). The uber-fans over at JurassicWorld.org have found an Instagram photo claiming to oust an animatronic velociraptor  from the upcoming Jurassic World.  They claim it's for real too, according to "multiple sources."  They don't reveal who these sources are, but honestly, there's no reason not to believe the authenticity of the photo.  The movie is out in less than a year and it's clearly in … [Read more...]

What Happened to the Dark Tower Movie?

Where is the Dark Tower Film?

Anyone who has taken the time to read Stephen King’s magnum opus knows that the seven Dark Tower books contain the kind of narrative that’s easy to love and hard to forget. I finished reading the epic series of books my freshman year of college, and—my friends can attest to this—I have been rambling on about them ever since.  There’s just so much to sink your teeth into: it’s an adventure story; it’s a western; it’s high fantasy; it’s science-fiction; it’s horror—and that ending!  Man, that … [Read more...]
