Sting

Review

All hell breaks loose when a withdrawn high schooler begins caring for a spider whose alien origin is unknown to her, greatly endangering her family and neighbors in this goopy, silly little slice of warmed-over B-movie pie. Working within clear budgetary constraints, it leans on containment, pacing, and creature restraint rather than spectacle, and mostly knows when not to show its hand. The creature-feature template remains well worn, but the familiar beats are executed cleanly enough to be enjoyable in the moment.
